PAUL TAYLOR

PAUL TAYLOR is the man who created Retro, the UK’s leading light in Classic House music way way back in 1998. In the late ’80s, Paul Taylor & business partner Steve Farkas took ownership of 1200 capacity club called The Angels located under a multi-story car park in Burnley, Lancashire. Although The Angels had been opened a few years by this point, it wasn’t until around 1990 when it would rise out of the early house scene and start to draw crowds from all over. During these formative years, the club was host to many D.J.’s who later became big names in the following decade. D.J.s like Carl Cox, Sasha, Pete Tong, DJ Hype, Paul Oakenfold, and many others graced the Angels decks. Alongside these soon-to-be worldwide D.J.’s, you had local talent playing like Paul Taylor, DJ Welly, and Rick B.

JOHN PLEASED WIMMIN

Renowned for pulsating DJ sets and flamboyant drag outfits, Jon Pleased Wimmin kicked off his career behind the decks in the sweat-soaked, heaving epicentre of the rave revolution in 1991. Warming up for Danny Rampling in Ibiza, Jon was an immediate hit and he soon became a fixture at superclubs up and down the country – such as Fabric, Ministry of Sound, Cream, Renaissance and loads more!

Jon has gone on to play alongside luminaries such as 2ManyDj’s, Jacques Lu Cont, Danny Tenaglia, Sasha, Carl Cox, Andrew Weatherall, Boy George, Pete Tong, Sister Bliss and Erol Alkan to name a few. More recently, Jon played at the Manchester Pride alongside Ana Matronic from Scissor Sisters, gigged for Cream, as well as DJing at Soft Cell’s 40th anniversary show at the O2 in London in 2018. His unrivalled buckets of experience, eclectic taste and encyclopaedic knowledge of dance and pop music make him the perfect candidate for any wedding party looking for a theme of banging club beats and fabulous glamour!

BEN TAYLOR – Ben’s professional DJ career kicked off in the club scene way back in the late 90’s. Bens versatility and understanding of house music in many delightful forms is crystal clear, and his ability to know what makes a dance floor tick has set him apart. Performing at some of the best clubs across the globe; Tall Trees, Pacha, Sankeys, The Empire, Warehouse Project, Plug Sheffield and Eden to name but a few, and supporting world class DJ’s such as The Shapeshifters, MYNC project, Tom Novy, Graham Park, Jeremy Healy, Alistair Whitehead and of course his father Paul Taylor, DJ Ben Taylor has certainly imprinted his name firmly on the clubbing scene.

Saturday 27th April is our next instalment of Re-Groove, our vibrant house music night!

We’ve secured the sleek Bunker Room in The Neighbourhood Bar at Tapestry, a purpose-built venue perfect for our event.

Good2Groove & Ricardo De Funk, have united their efforts to craft a dynamic monthly event we launched at the end of March 2024.

We are excited to unveil  Tapestry, nestled on the outskirts of Bradford, as our venue of choice.

Teaming up with the venue’s proprietors and influential personalities, we are committed to igniting this monthly affair.

Admission to this remarkable venue will be complimentary*, granting attendees the opportunity to bask in one of the finest sound systems I’ve ever encountered. * just register to get your ticket *£2 Booking Fee Applies

In the spirit of nurturing a thriving DJ community, we have elected not to levy entry fees or compensate DJs, including ourselves. Our objective is to furnish a platform for DJs to exhibit their prowess alongside us, fostering an evening of delight for all attendees. The event is slated to unfold from 7 pm until 1 am, ensuring a kaleidoscope of musical genres throughout the night.

With a cadre of DJ acquaintances, we extend an invitation to all aspiring performers to connect with us. This endeavour is propelled by our fervour for music and our aspiration to furnish remarkable opportunities for DJs to dazzle. Join us for an evening brimming with joy, where all can simply revel in their passion.

Furthermore, we are excited to introduce the Re-Groove podcast, dedicated to showcasing quality house music and engaging discussions with industry luminaries. We hope for your wholehearted support of our planned complimentary events and encourage you to share our podcasts to amplify the music we hold dear.

It’s all about the music with Chris Berry & Deep Trouble joining resident DJ’s Good2Groove & Ricardo De Funk for a quality house music night. See you there!
